Welcome to the family! – New restaurants on toptable

When you’re choosing where to dine out, it can be tempting to stick to your tried-and-tested favourites. We know it’s important to support your local bars and restaurants, but we also like to try the neighbourhood newcomers. If you fancy trying something a little different, check out some of the fantastic new and notable restaurants that are now bookable on toptable.

In Notting Hill, chef Luis Baena has opened Notting Hill Kitchen – a stylish Spanish-Portuguese restaurant where carefully sourced ingredients take centre stage. The menu changes with the seasons to include dishes like slow-roasted milk-fed lamb shoulder, octopus confit with new potatoes, and ‘Arroz de Pato’ – Portuguese baked duck rice with chorizo.

If you’re looking for inspiration in Shoreditch, we’ve got a tempting trio of newcomers for you. Try out the meat-focused menu at the Beard to Tail, sip New Orleans-inspired cocktails at NOLA, or check out the parlour bar, dining rooms and roof terrace at The Dolls House on Hoxton Square. The Dolls House kitchen will be run by London street food vendors like Thank Cluck and Mama Wang’s Kitchen, so keep an eye on their website for details.

South of the river, the Peckham Refreshment Rooms have proved a hit with locals and critics alike. The stripped-back, friendly tapas bar serves well-priced wines, fantastic charcuterie and gutsy plates of garlicky snails, duck confit and Cornish sardines.
Small plates are also big business in Belfast where local foodies flock to Coppi for Italian cicchetti, fresh pasta and pizzette. With cicchetti priced at just £2.50 each, it’s the perfect place to catch up with friends without breaking the bank.
