If you’ve been watching the new series of The F Word (every Tuesday at 10pm), you'll already know about Ramsay’s mission to find the UK’s Best Local Restaurant. From over 10,000 nominations, Gordon has picked 18 restaurants to take part in weekly cook-offs where 50 demanding diners vote for their favourite. Gordon will then whittle down the winners until there are just two in the series finale.
Over the past few weeks, two Italian eateries went head to head, with Bristol’s Prosecco losing to Salvos in Leeds. Birmingham’s Lasan defeated Curry Corner in the Indian restaurant challenge, while The French Table – one of our top diner rated favourites in Surbiton – lost out to Hexham’s Bouchon Bistro. In last week’s Chinese heat, Manchester’s Sweet Mandarin took on Chop Chop (Edinburgh) and romped to victory with their clay pot chicken.
Over the next few weeks, look out for more toptable-approved restaurants like Yum Yum Thai, The Swan and Lola Rojo battling it out in the F Word kitchen. To find local gems in your area, check out the F Word map or use the toptable UK restaurant guide.
