Thailand @ Trafalgar Square 2010

If your budget won’t stretch to Bangkok this summer, head for Trafalgar Square on June 5th. From noon until 8pm, it will host  a celebration of Thai culture with live music, Thai boxing displays, market stalls, food and dance. Have your photo taken in a traditional tuk-tuk taxi or watch the puppet shows and intricate fruit carving demos. It’s like Phuket, except it’s free and you’ll only need an Oyster card to get there.

Some of London’s top Thai restaurants will be in attendance, alongside two bars selling Singha beers, Monsoon Valley vines and unusual Thai soft drinks. Foodies can sample authentic dishes from restaurants like Mango Tree, Patara, Busaba Eathai, Thai Square and Chaopraya Eat-thai. There will also be gourmet goodies and fresh Thai produce on sale so you can recreate your favourite curries and stir-fries at home.
