Shubh Diwali! Celebrate Here!

Diwali is here, a wonderful celebration of family and friends and the festival of good triumphant over evil — and toptable restaurants are giving you every good reason to celebrate with them.
Vivek Singh of the glorious, award-winning The Cinnamon Club in Westminster has created a six-course banquet  that includes Punjabi street food, lamb soola, veggie biryani and Indian religious offerings for just £50.  Sister restaurant Cinnamon Kitchen in the City invites you to celebrate Diwali’s reaffirmation of hope and life’s simple joys with a four-course tasting menu of delicately spiced treats that looks far too good to miss for £45.
Divine Trishna in Marylebone is featuring a four or six course tasting menu with the options of matching wines or a vegetarian version and it sounds superb.
The Museum of London is taking advantage of Diwali + Half Term to offer a week of arts, crafts and puppetry.  Where to take them afterwards?  Chawol restaurant is an easy stroll away and offers just the right mix of super Indian cuisine and relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere.  That is, if you can drag the children past Pizza Express!
Some brilliant Indian restaurants are offering the generous Love Food Give Food special offers through October, so you can take advantage of terrific food to celebrate the season and help the hungry at the same time.  Top diner rated restaurants like Ambrette in Margate, Palace Spice in Battersea, Mystica in Addlestone in Surrey, Cafe Rickshaw in Wolverhampton and the fabulous Michelin-starred Benares in Mayfair all have irresistible special offers through this month and into November.
Indiana Restaurant in Limehouse is practically throwing offers at you to entice you through their doors: 50% off food, three courses for £15, 25% off for groups.  Great food, divine waiters, fun atmosphere and now unbeatable offers — no wonder you toptable diners have rated Indiana a blinding 8.5
Ditto Slumdog Bar and Kitchen on Sauciehall Street in Glasgow: top diner rating, brilliant food, casual vibe, enthusiastic waiters and now 30% off food or great two-course offers for lunch and pre-theatre.  And the same thing at Dockmasters House in Canary Wharf: 40% off food or two courses for £15 from a set menu — a superb pair of offers from one of toptable diners’ favourite restaurants.  The excellent Anokaa in Salisbury is also tempting diners with a pair of offers for lunch and early supper.
As the year turns darker and the clocks go back, when the world sometimes is confusing and the way ahead unclear, we at toptable revel in the meaning of Diwali, that struggle of light over darkness is worth the effort, and that life’s simplest pleasures of family and friends and eating together are always things to celebrate.  Shubh Diwali.
