The Duck & Rice opens on April 13th – Alan Yau, founder of Hakkasan and Yauatcha, opens his latest venture opens on Berwick Street in Soho next week. He told the Evening Standard that The Duck & Rice is a ‘proper pub with a Chinese kitchen’, so expect quality ales and lagers alongside Chinese comfort food dishes like five spice fried chicken, dim sum and classic crispy duck.

Mark Sargeant takes the reins at The Strand Dining Rooms – Celeb chef and restaurateur Mark Sargeant has joined The Strand Dining Rooms as chef director. Second Café Murano to open in Covent Garden – Angela Hartnett is opening a second Café Murano in Covent Garden with Richard Lloyd (ex-Hartnett, Holder & Co) at the helm. Spread over two floors, the restaurant will offer an all-Italian wine list and the menu will focus on dishes from northern Italy’s coastal regions.
