With Valentine’s Day only 10 days away, diners are busy trying to find the perfect place to wine and dine their date. With that in mind, we’re excited to reveal the 50 most romantic restaurants in the UK for 2020, based on reviews written by OpenTable diners.
London dominates the top 50 most romantic restaurants list with 18 entries, followed by a strong northern offering across Manchester and Liverpool. From Café St Honoré in Edinburgh to Wreckfish in Liverpool, there’s an incredible array of culinary experiences for the nation to choose from this Valentine’s Day.
Despite being a nation of adventurous eaters, it seems that Brits like to keep things traditional when choosing a cuisine for date night. The most popular cuisine couples opted for last year was British, followed by Italian and steak.
With 70% of British romantics feeling a level of stress when trying to find the right destination for their date, we’ve teamed up with dating app, Hinge, to develop a ‘Matchmaker’ tool. Simply put in your location, preferred atmosphere and favourite cuisine to be paired with recommendations for restaurants that suit you.
Adrian Valeriano, VP EMEA comments: “For those already in a couple, the Date Night Matchmaker is a great way to inject some fun into the restaurant decision-making process and discovering new restaurants to try. The ‘Matchmaker’ questions ensure a smooth and painless process of finding and booking the perfect, personalised date destination.”
With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, now’s the time to make those all-important reservations. Visit OpenTable to discover and book a romantic restaurant near you.
