New to toptable: The Salisbury, Whitechapel Gallery and more…

Bored with your local trattoria? Can’t face another pizza? Don’t panic – we’ve added some great restaurants to toptable so you can try somewhere new this weekend. Go on, treat yourself!

Perfect for culture vultures, the Whitechapel Gallery Dining Room is a seriously chic but reasonably priced addition to the Shoreditch restaurant scene. There is seasonal British food on offer in the light and airy dining area, and some lighter options, cakes and pastries in the café and bar on the mezzanine level.

Across town in Marylebone, the Landmark Hotel's restaurant has been relaunched as twotwentytwo – a sleek bar and dining room with a classic European menu. The new look is chic but understated, with the restaurant retaining its original wood panelling and antique fireplaces.

In Fulham, the small plates at The Salisbury are great if you like to share. We recommend the smoked duck with plum relish, peppered roast beef with salsa verde, and the vegetarian Scotch egg. The revamped gastro pub has already wowed the critics and the locals so we reckon it’s definitely worth a try.

Further south in Battersea, a new branch of The Establishment has opened near Clapham Common and it’s serving up the same hearty British fare as the Parsons Green original but with an added emphasis on steaks. There are real ales and excellent cocktails on offer in the bar but we recommend sitting outside on their sunny alfresco terrace.
