New OpenTable restaurants: Gymkhana, Margot, Red Dog Saloon & more

Feel like you’re going to the same restaurants time after time? Give your favourites a break this month and check out some of the fantastic UK restaurants that have recently joined OpenTable.


Gymkhana – This award-winning Mayfair restaurant serves some of the best Indian food in London, from boldly spiced sharing plates to meat and fish cooked in the tandoor oven. Don’t leave without trying their famous muntjac biryani.

The Ivy Café St John’s Wood – The latest addition to The Ivy Café family has just opened in north London. The stunning brasserie is open all day serving breakfast, afternoon tea, and classic dishes like steak tartare and whole lemon sole.

Margot – Paulo De Tarso (ex-Bar Boulud) and Nicolas Jaouën have opened an elegant Italian restaurant in Covent Garden. With superb service and beautifully presented dishes, it’s a top spot for date night and pre-theatre suppers.

Jikoni – Food writer and chef Ravinder Bhogal has opened her first restaurant in Marylebone. Diners can enjoy dishes inspired by her travels, such as prawn toast Scotch eggs, lobster khichdee and mutton keema Sloppy Joe.

Cabotte – Founded by two Master Sommeliers, this new City restaurant serves fantastic French food and fine wine in a relaxed, bistro-inspired setting. For business or pleasure, it’s guaranteed to impress.

Also new in London: Burdock (Moorgate); Caravan Bankside; Sky Lounge at The Shangri-La (London Bridge); MNKY HSE (Mayfair); Kimchee (Holborn); Kiri Restaurant (Mayfair), and Barrica (Fitzrovia).


Elizabeth Cottam at the New Ellington – MasterChef semi-finalist Elizabeth Cottam is now in residence at the New Ellington in her home city of Leeds. Diners can expect classic British dishes with autumnal flavours, such as confit duck with plums and aubergine and tomato tart with whipped Tamworth cheese.

Galvin at Centurion – The Galvin brothers’ latest restaurant offers seasonal French dishes in the opulent surroundings of the Centurion Club in St Albans. It’s a perfect setting for celebratory dinners and leisurely Sunday roasts.

Red Dog Saloon – Bringing Kansas City barbecue to Nottingham, Red Dog is the perfect place to kick back with a few beers and a big plate of wings. Their ribs and brisket are served fresh from the smoker and their burgers will defeat even the hungriest carnivore. (Just don’t fill up on their milkshakes before your food arrives…)

The Seacroft – At this gastropub on the coast of Anglesey, you’ll find only the best locally reared meat and seafood on the menu. If you can resist their steaks, try roast Welsh lamb, fresh mussels, or their famous beer-battered haddock.

Pint Shop – Now open in Oxford, Pint Shop promises serves 21 craft beers on tap, 100 gins, and a selection of wines from small European growers. Pair your tipple of choice with hearty British dishes like dry aged steaks, confit duck salad, and overnight pork belly with apple and mustard sauce.
