This evening, Restaurant Magazine will recognise the top 100 restaurants in the UK at their prestigious annual awards ceremony. The restaurants are voted for by an expert panel of chefs, restaurateurs, food writers and critics. Around 90 of the top 100 restaurants will be attending the ceremony and el Bulli chef Ferran Adria is flying in from Spain as a special guest.
In addition to the top 100, there are a number of speciality awards including Chef’s Chef of the Year and awards highlighting outstanding wine lists, service, and sustainability. New for 2014 is the OpenTable Diners’ Choice ‘Fit for Foodies’ Award which represents the opinions of more than 325,000 reviews written by OpenTable diners in the past year.
The winner will be announced this evening (follow it on twitter!) but we can reveal the shortlisted restaurants in the OpenTable ‘Fit For Foodies’ category:
— The Ambrette, Margate
— The Artichoke, Old Amersham
— The Clove Club, London
— The Dairy, Clapham
— The Fat Duck, Bray
— The French Table, Surbiton

Lucy Taylor, head of Restaurant Relations at OpenTable, explains, “These winning restaurants put the wow factor in everything they serve, taking culinary creativity to another level and delighting OpenTable diners every step of the way.”
We are thrilled to be a part of the 2014 National Restaurant Awards and wish the best of luck to all the chefs and restaurateurs attending this evening. We will publish the list of Top 50 Fit for Foodies Restaurants in the UK tomorrow, so stay tuned to see if your favourite made the cut. Remember, the winners are chosen based on your opinions, so keep writing those reviews!
