It's all change: St Alban closes and Boxwood Cafe prepares to relocate

toptable are sad to confirm that St Alban – one of our most popular top diner rated restaurants in London – will close for good after December 24th. Hardens have reported that a ‘substantial’ offer has been received for the premises and that restaurateurs Corbin and King will be moving on to other projects.

The Guardian claims that ‘the money released from St Alban will help go to fund their massive expansion plans: a new grand cafe in the old Theatre Museum site in Covent Garden, another venture at the top of the Bishopsgate tower development in the city.’ Here’s hoping that the new projects will enjoy the same success as their ever-popular Mayfair eatery, The Wolseley.

In other news, only Marcus Wareing and The Caramel Room will remain at the Berkeley Hotel in Knightsbridge next April when Gordon Ramsay’s Boxwood Café moves out. Hardens have confirmed that the Ramsay group is close to signing ‘exciting’ new premises in central London where the Boxwood brand will continue.
