From Friday 27th to Sunday 29th November, Clapham’s Venn Street will be transformed into a bustling food and flower market, bringing artisan produce and tasty street food to local residents.
Providing some welcome relief from the dreary supermarket aisles, the market traders have been sourced from all over London and include local butcher Moen’s and fishmonger Moxon’s, as well as familiar favourites from Borough Market like Neal’s Yard Dairy, Flour Power City Bakery and Secrett’s Farm.
If you fancy brunch on the move, there will be hot food from Pieminister, Arabica Food & Spice and Churros Garcia. You can check out the full traders list on the Sourced website. From April 2010, the market will run weekly once Venn Street has been pedestrianised as part of the Clapham Gateway project.
The new market already has celeb chef support from Jason Atherton (Maze) who lives in the area. He explains, ‘Markets like this are a vital step forward - not only for the yummy food, but as a form of education for the next generation on where their food comes from. I'm incredibly excited by this market coming to my door step.’
