Independence Day fun in London

To celebrate Independence Day on July 4th, some of London’s all-American eateries are serving up themed menus and entertainment to bring the best of the USA to the capital. So whether you’re an ex-pat or you just love ribs, make your bookings now.

Eagle Bar Diner – The West End favourite is having a huge 4th July party, complete with Coyote Ugly style dancers and a menu packed full of spicy chicken wings, chilli dogs and belly pork. Wash it all down with a US specialty beer bucket or a US-inspired cocktail.

Big Easy – Try the picnic special of Southern fried chicken, coleslaw, watermelon and a Margarita for just £14.95 or enter the Independence Day rib eating contest. The current record is nine racks!

Bodean’s – Just like in the States, Bodean’s are serving up picnic-style offerings like barbecued chicken, ribs, pulled pork and cornbread. Try the barbecue sampler (£11.95 per person) or feed the whole family from the hefty combo menu (£17.76 per person).

Chicago Rib Shack – There’s live entertainment and a two-for-one breakfast offer on all weekend, as well as a fancy dress party complete with famous lookalikes on Saturday.

All Star Lanes – The Brick Lane branch is hosting a chilli cook off on Thursday at 12pm and a fancy dress only party on Saturday. Their website has all the guest list details.

Christopher’s – Choose two courses for £27 or three for £33 from the Independence Day menu which features dishes like New England clam bake, BBQ beef short ribs, and blueberry and rhubarb pie.
