Father's Day: Dinner with Dad

If it’s not already in your diary, don’t forget Father’s Day on June 21st – and more importantly, make sure you’ve got a dad-friendly dinner planned! If you’re stuck for inspiration (or looking for a bargain), here are some of the best places to impress your old man.

Chicago Rib Shack – If your Dad can finish the Shack’s enormous Father’s Day Platter, he’ll win a prize and enter their Hall of Fame. While he tackles their rack of ribs, spicy chicken wings and other bits, the kids can enter the piggy colouring competition.

Sam’s Brasserie – On Monday 22nd, Sam’s is hosting a Glenlivet whisky tasting from 7.30pm to 8.30pm – perfect if your Dad’s a bit of a connoisseur. If you stay for dinner, you can dine a la carte or go for the £17 three-course set menu.

Imli – In Soho, the Indian small-plate eatery will feed your Dad for free. If you’re a party of three or more eating from the £14.95 tasting menu, his grub is gratis!

Indigo – In the Aldwych Hotel, treat your Dad to a special brunch, plenty of beer and an afternoon screening of Goodfellas for £30.

Cookbook Café – Pop in for a family brunch where the kids get to bake cookies and Dad gets a chance to test drive an Aston Martin V8 Vantage. (£39 per head, £14 per child)

Tamarind – If your Dad loves curry, head for Tamarind where Chef Alfred Prasad has put together a three-course tasting menu for £35 and on June 21st they’re offering a great 2-for-1 deal.

The Modern Pantry – In trendy Clerkenwell, Anna Hansen will be serving a Father’s Day roast priced at £17.50 for two courses and £22 for three.

Why not celebrate at a Michelin starred restaurant? Or keep it simple with somewhere that serves up great steaks or burgers? It doesn’t matter if you’re short of cash, there are plenty of special offers running that are guaranteed to satisfy the thriftiest of fathers!
