On Thursday 25th June, Covent Garden is launching a vintage themed ‘Tea Party on the Piazza’ to help busy Londoners make time for tea.
From 5-7pm, visitors will be whisked back to the glitz and glamour of the 1920s to celebrate one of the most popular British foodie traditions. Seated within a white picket fence on the East Piazza, diners will pay just £5 for freshly brewed tea and cream cakes or £8 for Prosecco cocktails and cakes, all served on dainty crockery.
Guests can have their futures read by a gypsy tea-reader or delve deep into the dress-up trunks provided by Vintage Patisserie and have fun with fascinators, parasols and other retro regalia. The icing on the cake will be a traditional Tea Dance where tea ladies in full 1920’s attire will lead the crowd in the Lindy Hop or the Waltz.
