If you missed the launch of the Soho Food Lovers market last week, make sure you come along this Saturday to celebrate National Cherry Day. The market will be awash with delicious British cherries from Perry Court Farm’s orchards in Kent and Brogdale Farm, who will be bringing lots of rare and unusual cherry varieties for you to try.
Some of the market regulars will be joining in the fun, so arrive hungry and try Helsett Farm’s cherry ice-cream or some zingy cherry chutney from Fosse Meadows Farm. One of London’s finest cafes, Bea’s of Bloomsbury, will be selling cherry cupcakes, meringues and refreshing cherry and vanilla black iced tea. Not a cherry fan? Check out the other producers who will be attending.
The FoodLovers market will be working closely with Soho’s restaurants to develop market menus using at least one ingredient sourced from the market. This week, Quo Vadis, Hix and Zilli Green will be participating, and Venetian eatery Polpo will be serving a Cherry Galani sandwich.
The market takes place on Rupert Street and Winnett Street, just off Brewer Street, Wardour Street and Shaftesbury Avenue. Click here to find top diner rated restaurants nearby.
