12 days of festive fun – 9. Visit Santa

Tickets for the iconic Santa’s Grotto at Harrods have already sold out, but don’t panic! Father Christmas is popping up all over London this December so there are plenty of chances to meet him. Here are our top three alternative grottos – guaranteed to be a big hit with kids this Christmas.

Santa at ZSL London Zoo – Meet Santa and his reindeer, lend a hand at Keeper’s Little Helpers sessions, and settle down for storytelling with Mother Christmas. Creative kids can try gingerbread decorating, add festive wishes to the Wishing Tree, and take part in the Zoo’s colouring competition.

Eat nearby: Head to Camden for a meal at Simply Fish, The Blues Kitchen, or Sen Nin.

SEA LIFE London Aquarium – Father Christmas returns to his Antarctic Grotto at the London Aquarium from Saturday 14th December until the 24th. Visit his log cabin in the Ice Adventure area, meet his larger-than-life penguin helper, and check out the unique ‘Fishmas’ trees.

Eat nearby: Grab a bite to eat at Benugo, BB Pasta Bar, Feng Sushi, or The Archduke.

Santa’s Grotto at Westfield – Visit Santa and his elves in their new grotto in the heart of a magical village lined with giant candy canes. Each child will receive a special gift and their name and picture will feature in an animated 5D Christmas film about Elbow the Elf.
