12 days of festive fun – 10. Dine while you shop

With only eight days left until Christmas, it’s time to go shopping for those last minute gifts and festive stocking fillers. If you’re short on time, we’ve rounded up five of the best restaurants in some of London’s department stores and shopping centres so you can shop and dine at the same time!

Gordon Ramsay's Bread Street Kitchen.

Gordon Ramsay’s Bread Street Kitchen.

Bread Street Kitchen at One New Change – At the blissfully calm shopping centre near St Paul’s, you can drop into Gordon Ramsay’s buzzy City restaurant for breakfast, bar snacks, and dishes like slow-roasted pork belly, charcoal grilled steaks, and steamed sea bream.

Hix Restaurant & Champagne Bar at Selfridges – Splash out on fizz and seafood at the stunning pewter bar, treat a friend to afternoon tea, or try the great value set menu (2 courses for £19.75). This winter, Hix is also running a pop-up Mark’s Bar in the Mens’ Shoe Department – a perfect place to leave a tired boyfriend while you shop.

Harvey Nichols Fifth Floor Restaurant – The elegant restaurant at Harvey Nichols is the perfect place to refuel after a few hours of shopping in Knightsbridge. As an added sweetener this month, they’re offering 25% off your food bill when you dine between Monday and Friday.

Cabana at Westfield Stratford – Heading east for some retail therapy? Head to Cabana for fruity Caipirinhas, spicy skewers, and Brazilian street snacks like cheesy dough balls and pulled pork sliders.

Fortnum & Mason Gallery Restaurant – If you’re picking up gourmet gifts or splashing out on a hamper in Fortnum’s fabulous food hall, why not treat yourself to lunch at The Gallery? Their Christmas set menu (3 courses for £32) includes roast turkey with all the trimmings followed by panettone bread and butter pudding or Christmas pudding with brandy custard.

If you need to eat on the run this Christmas, search for available tables on toptable.co.uk or ask our experts for advice on twitter or Facebook.
