Perched at the top of South Place Hotel, Angler is an award-winning restaurant showcasing sustainable British seafood. If you’re not ready to commit to their (stunning) tasting menu, why not pop in for lunch? Whether you’re wining and dining a client or treating your office bestie, Coq d’Argent never fails to impress. The restaurant offers a flawless fine dining experience, while the grill is more relaxed and ideal for a low-key lunch. Be sure to save room for desserts like dark chocolate fondant and lemongrass crème brûlée.

Say goodbye to your sad desk salad and hello to lunch with a view of St Paul’s at Jamie Oliver’s Barbecoa. Choose from mains like rump steak, roast cod, or their smoked meat of the day packed into a bun with pickles and slaw.
Set menu: Salad + steak frites for £24
We couldn’t talk about set menus without including Le Relais de Venise, home to one of London’s best-loved bargains. For £24 a head, you get a fresh green salad with walnuts and mustard vinaigrette, followed by steak frites cooked how you like it and served with their delicious signature sauce. They even bring you a second helping! If – by some miracle – you still have room for dessert, we can highly recommend their profiteroles.
Menu du Chef: 2 courses for £29, 3 for £34.50 (available at lunch and from 6-7pm)
If you work near Liverpool Street, ditch your desk lunch and head to Galvin La Chapelle for dishes like Cornish red mullet with basil gnocchi au pistou or pot roast chicken with sweetcorn puree. Why not splash out on a great glass of wine to savour while you take in the grandeur of the Grade II listed building?
Express menu: 2 courses for £25, 3 for £28 (Mon-Fri 12-3pm and 5-6.30pm)
Why save steak for special occasions? With Hawksmoor’s express menu, you can enjoy a 250g rib eye (or fish or veggie option) with a side and a starter or dessert for just £25. You can dine in the bar, too – their famous burger, steak sandwich, and short rib French dip all come in under £20.
Menu 28: 2 courses plus coffee for £28 (Mon-Fri 12-5pm).
If you don’t have time to linger over a Wagyu rib eye, M Grill’s Menu 28 is served in 28 minutes so you’ll be fed, watered, and back in the office within the hour. It changes weekly but you can look forward to dishes like yellow fin sashimi, hanger steak, and smoked duck.
Quick lunch menu: £13 for 2 courses, £16 for 3.
Tucked away on the Shoreditch-City fringe, Darbaar serves modern dishes inspired by the banquets of the Indian Royal Court. With treats like spice roast mackerel and Bombay masala chicken on the lunch menu, you’ll definitely want to come back to explore the a la carte. We like their Lotus Bar for after-work drinks, too.
